Family Letter for 2008

Howdy

I'm late as usual.

Jenny and James are still in Bradenton Beach, FL.

Jenny finally had a picture of herself. She—like a lot of us—doesn't like her picture taken.

She has a blog that she updates frequently. She's a country girl living in the city, which makes it hard, but she has the ocean only a few blocks away.

James and Jenny plan to come to Anna's graduation in May.

Kara is in Grand Canyon. Still working hard as a bell man.

Luke is in Ecuador teaching English and studying through the University of Phoenix.

Mark is in Ecuador as well for a visit. He'll return to the Grand Canyon in January or February.

Ezra and Elon worked hard on their garden and points in educational games online to earn enough to receive a camera—Canon PowerShot SD870 free.

We went to Mansfield, MO this past spring as usual to Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds.

We bought a number of rare seeds.

Ezra and Elon grew a number of great gourds.

This is a Jelly Melon. The fruit inside is green; you squeeze it out for the juice which is red. I thought it was kinda bitter. The potatoes did well in my garden, but they were all small. The tomatoes didn't do well until very late in the season. Oh, well I'm ready for this spring.

The children like their chickens. This is Old Red.

This is Hazel.

We like to Ha Ha Tonka state park. It seems we go there every year. This year the yellow jackets bothered us the whole time we were eating. We like to hike the trails, go down the steps—all 276—or whatever it is, watch the spring, look over the castle, and watch the river.

Jenny says she wants to take James there when they come here in spring.

Elon.

Elon on castle picture.

Ezra in tree picture.

We can't forget this one. This is Laser.

Vicky's been busy. It seems like there is always something to do.

I've been busy at work. There is no end to the number of sick. I'm sad when people are sick, but on the other hand that means I can still work. I'm already looking forward to gardening.

Anna and LaSara

Josh is busy in construction, except when the weather is bad. He recently bought a compound bow. He is practicing, so he can go hunting next year.

The Lord Jesus has truly blessed us this year.

My other blog is Choco Says.
